Thief arrested for gifting girlfriend a house worth Rs 30 million with stolen money
Police recover 181 grams of gold biscuits from thief’s house
Delhi (Daily Pakistan Online) Bangalore Police have arrested a thief who used the stolen money to build a luxurious house worth Rs 3 crore for his girlfriend. The arrested accused has been identified as 37-year-old Panchakshri Swamy, who hails from Solapur in Maharashtra. According to the police, the accused also had close relations with a famous film actress.
It was revealed that Swamy entered the world of crime in 2003 when he was a minor. By 2009, he had become a professional thief and had amassed a fortune worth crores from his crimes. In 2014-15, he formed a relationship with a famous actress, on whom he spent crores of rupees. He built a luxurious house worth Rs 3 crore in Kolkata and gifted the actress an aquarium worth Rs 22 lakh.
According to NDTV, in 2016, he was arrested by Gujarat Police and sentenced to six years in prison. After serving his sentence in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Jail, he returned to the world of theft. Later, the Maharashtra Police also arrested him, but after his release in 2024, he moved to Bangalore, where he resumed his theft activities.
In January, he targeted a house in Madiwala, Bangalore. The police arrested him near Madiwala Market on the basis of secret information. During interrogation, he confessed to his crimes and said that he was committing thefts with an accomplice in Bangalore.
Willis has recovered an iron rod and a fire gun from his possession, which he used to melt the stolen gold and convert it into biscuits. He revealed that he used to store all the stolen gold and silver biscuits in his Solapur house. The police have seized 181 grams of gold biscuits, 333 grams of silver jewellery and a fire gun used to melt the stolen jewellery from his house.
During the investigation, it was also found that Swami used to change his clothes on the way after every incident so that no one would suspect him. He was also a black belt holder in karate. After the death of his father, his mother got a job in the railway department. Further investigation revealed that he also had a house in his name which was registered in his mother’s name, but the bank had issued a notice of auction for it due to non-payment of the loan.
